(Item 008407) Correct DLUR REQDISCONT processing ------------------------------------------------ When a DLUR currently receives a REQDISCONT request from a downstream PU (DSPU), it converts the request into a REQDACTPU request and sends it to the DLUS. It does not return a RSP(REQDISCONT) to the DSPU. It appears that in the same situation in a subarea environment, a RSP(REQDISCONT) is returned to the DSPU (for subarea the response is built by the subarea SSCP and is forwarded to the DSPU by the NCP BF). Problems have been reported by customers involving DSPUs hanging because a RSP(REQDISCONT) was not sent by the DLUR. The DLUR architecture must be updated to direct the DLUR to build and send a RSP(REQDISCONT) to the DSPU upon receipt of the RSP(REQDACTPU) from the DLUS.
